Link Building Gives an Added Boost and Recognition

In this day and age it can be tough to grab those links from all over the web to help impress the major search engines to give you higher rankings. However, I have put together some great resources to help you really make a push forward and attain a large number of quality inbound links.

I want to start with Article Marketing. Article writing and distribution is a great way to get links rather easily, and I personally recommend that you distribute a single article over time to popular article sites. A great resource for finding quality article sites would be The Article Master List. This is a great resource that allows you to arrange popular article sites by page rank and popularity. I recommend drafting an article and submitting it weekly to a different site. I was told by Stoney deGeyter from Pole Position Marketing that he created an Excel spreadsheet and would only submit every article once a week on a rotating basis. So if you have 20 articles, submit every article to a different site each week and keep a record of where each was submitted.

Another great idea in my opinion is a pretty standard recommendation. However, a lot of companies and websites are not capitalizing on their full potential. Create a word press or similar blog, and then integrate a social book marking plugin to help build inbound links to your blog posts. This is a great way to really grab high quality links. I found a great word press plug-in called "ShareThis", however there are many plug-ins available, so try a few out and see what works for you.

Something I personally do is seek out my competition’s links using Yahoo's search function. The reason I don't use the Google function, as most of you know, is that they don't show all inbound links to a web site. So for amusement, let’s say you are trying to find all the links pointing to Google, because you want to make a new search engine better than Google. (LOL)

You would search for links:google.com. The reason I don't search for links:www.google.com is simple; some sites will link to Google without using the Fully Qualified Domain Name. Some will only link to the partially qualified domain name http://google.com

Next, I believe another great tactic is to create your own blogs and web pages on popular sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, MyBlogLog, Myspace and others. The reason being is that you can create great content, add some friends and easily create a page with link popularity, page rank and then link to your own web site from that page. You will also be able to drum up visitors to these pages and create relationships to push your site marketing to a whole new level.

There are several other great tactics, such as searching for sites that need sponsors, forum posting (with a link or two in your signature) and more. Using them will give your site added recognition.
